Updates to PowerSchool Messaging System: Check Your Contact Preferences

Our PowerSchool messaging system was updated during summer 2018, which reset all parent/guardian contact preferences. This reset means parents/guardians will receive messages from your school and occasionally from AVRCE (including school cancellation notices) by email, text and phone if you have contact information on file with your school, unless contact preferences are changed using the PowerSchool Parent Portal, or by speaking with your school office staff to let them know your contact preferences.

Parents/Guardians can choose to receive messages only by certain methods (for example, by text but not by phone or email.) or to receive no messages.

To update your PowerSchool contact preferences, speak to your school office or use the PowerSchool Parent Portal. If your phone number, email address or other contact information changes at any time during the school year, please let your school office staff know.

AVRCE’s Notify Me text/email service will continue to be available to school community members (such as grandparents, childcare providers) who wish to receive school cancellation notices by text or email. Notify Me has not been reset; if you subscribed in the past, your contact information remains in this system. At any time, you can unsubscribe from Notify Me here.

Parents/guardians who have contact information on file with their child’s school do not need to sign up for Notify Me to receive notices.
