Every year, our transportation staff carefully review and plan bus routes and timing for the new school year. For the 2020-21 school year, we have made changes that improve student ride times on buses on average, and have eliminated nearly all bus transfers where students wait at one school before travelling to their home school. We will also welcome all children enrolled in Pre-Primary Programs to take the bus beginning in the 2020-21 school year.
These changes mean that many bus stop pick-up and drop-off times will change. It is also possible that the location of your child’s bus stop may change as well. If you have children attending different schools, you may have more than one bus stop location and time.
Because there are more significant changes to bus routes compared to previous years, it is very important to check your bus stop information for the new school year.
To check your 2020-21 bus information, go to https://transportation.avrce.ca/ and click on “Parent Portal.” You can also view/download instructions (PDF) to help you get started.
Please note: BusPlanner Parent Portal is not connected to the PowerSchool Parent Portal, so a separate login and password is needed. The BusPlanner system has also been updated recently, so even if you have used it before, you will need to create a login and password the first time you use the BusPlanner Parent Portal on or after June 18, 2020.
Routes will be finalized by August 15, so now is the time to let us know if you have questions about your child’s busing. Checking early can also give your family time to prepare for any changes in routine.
We welcome you to contact our Transportation staff members for help checking bus information, or if you have transportation-related questions. Email or call 902-538-4641.
