Looking Ahead to September
As our communities do their part to reduce the spread of COVID-19, we understand that students and families want to know what our plan for school in September will look like.
We do not know what September will look like in terms of the spread of COVID-19, but we are developing plans that will continue to give quality education for all students.
The Department of Education and Early Childhood Development (DEECD) is working with us, teachers, principals, educational leaders, and unions on a reopening plan. Before a plan for September can be announced, it has to be reviewed and approved by public health officials to ensure it will support the safe return of students and staff. This plan will include input from parents/guardians, students, and School Advisory Councils about their at-home learning experience.
The DEECD is aiming to release a reopening plan for the end of July with Public Health approval.
Until a reopening plan is ready, we recognize the uncertainty that you may be feeling. We are committed to keeping you updated when we have concrete information to share.
We thank our students and families for your dedication to at-home learning. We are also grateful to our teachers and staff for adapting quickly to continue providing a quality learning experience for our students. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we plan for September.
